Chicago Samba
Chicago Samba, a Midwest-based music ensemble, offers the authentic sounds of Brazil mixed with the flavor of carnaval.
Chicago Samba is under the direction of Mo Marchini, a native of Brazil, who has been playing in the Chicago area for over 35 years.
Michelle Andrade
Michelle is a Brazilian Ballroom Dance Instructor with 20 years of experience in Latin Styles (Salsa, Bachata, Samba, Samba de Gafieira, Forro, Brazilian Funk, Zouk, and others), plus 4 years experience of American Ballroom Dancing. Michelle moved to Chicago from her beautiful country 8 years ago, dancing since 5 years old, beginning with Ballet and Capoeira classes, and proud of having danced in Carnaval events in Rio de Janeiro and Chicago; she is a performer and teacher who is passionate about developing talent in students, and is super excited to share her knowledge and culture with us.
Sirène De Paradis
Sirène De Paradis (Diane Berrios) is an international cultural performance artist, musician, singer, fire spinner, and professional costume designer from Chicago, Illinois. For 20 years, her passion stemming from her Afro-Latina dance roots have paved a unique path of dance and education from her travels throughout the Caribbean, North, Central and South America. Her cultural depiction of the performing arts, dance workshops, and costumes that she designs have been showcased through her labels, Chi-Caribena and Global Booty Dance.
Raphaella Lua
Raphaella Lua is an internationally renowned instructor & choreographer in Fusion & American Cabaret Belly Dance. Performing and teaching throughout the globe, Raphaella is well-known for her fiery improvisation and unique twist on the Hip Hop Fusion style, as well as an added flavor of stylistic influences in Latin Ballroom and Brazilian samba. She also specializes in the art of Raks Sharki, more commonly known as Belly Dance in Western culture.
Tatiana Fonseca
Tatiana has been dancing since the age of 12. She has been belly dancing in Chicago and various venues throughout the United States—cultural events, corporate, bachelorette parties, weddings, fundraisers, stage shows, nightclubs, and more! Fully disciplined in dance since the age of 5, she is a hard working dancer who takes the art very seriously. She is well known for her professionalism, high energy, creative, fun, and classy performances.
Jacquelina
Jacquelina bellydances from the heart and enjoys storytelling through dance! Jacquelina is a proud Afro-Latina and bellydancing helps her explore a variety of cultures, combine elements of the past with the present, and celebrate her African roots as a Chicago performer.
